United Way Blue Book Shelf Program

Greg Taylor

United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha, and Pierce Counties continue to expand their Blue Book Shelf program.

Development Director Alexa Bjornstad says the books are geared for ages birth to middle school, and are free to take at a growing number of places around all three counties they serve.

Executive Director, Maureen Nelson, says they have corrected an oversight that originally had signs written in only English and the books have been very popular.

Nelson says they are looking for Imagination Library books that kids have read and are willing to donate.

There are Blue Book Shelves in Red Wing, Cannon Falls, Lake City and Wabasha among other communities.

If your business, book club, church group, or organization would like to be sponsor in your community, call the United Way office at 651-388-6309.
