Stinson Running for House of Representatives

Laurel Stinson, currently an At-large member of the Red Wing City Council, is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 20A seat.

Laurel grew up in rural Florence Township and has first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing farmers and rural communities. Our communities need affordable housing, equitable health care, clean air and water, quality work, and arts and cultural opportunities. Laurel was inspired to run because she believes there should be more women in elected office.

"As the State Representative for district 20A I will fight for opportunity for rural residents". Said Laurel Stinson. “Opportunity for workers, opportunity for farmers, opportunity for all”

The decision means there will be an open seat on the City Council as Stinson has announced she will not be seeking re-election.

The primary election will be held in August to fill her seat. Former member Andy Klitzke’s Ward 2 spot on the Council will also be filled with the August election.

Stinson is running as an endorsed DFL candidate.
