Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota and Wisconsin is coming up this week. April 7-11.
Tornado drills for both states are scheduled to occur at 1:45pm and 6:45pm on Thursday, April 10.
If severe weather would be an actual possibility that day, the drills would be postponed to Friday, April 11.
NWS La Crosse and NWS Twin Cities will initiate the drills through Social Media and NOAA Weather Radio -- drill will be sent as Required Weekly Test (RWT) with normal alert tones followed by drill verbiage.
Outdoor warning siren activation will vary by jurisdiction.
