Balancing the 2024-2025 budget and reviewing graduation plans will be the sole topics of a special Red Wing School Board on Monday, April 29.
Discussion will begin at 5 p.m. in Red Wing High School J100. The board is expected to act on both items.
Like 70% of Minnesota school districts, Red Wing faces a funding gap.
The local shortfall is projected at $2.3 million. That would consume nearly half of the existing fund balance if no changes are made.
The district held a community budget forum on April 23 and offered a survey to gather the public's suggestions on potential expenditure reductions, revenue opportunities and efficiency measures.
