Red Wing Residence Fire

On January 14, at 2:18 a.m., the Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire inside a residence in the 700 block of Jefferson Street in Red Wing. 

Fire department personnel arrived on the scene within 4 ½ minutes of receiving the call and found fire coming from a 2-story residence.

All occupants had safely exited the home.

Crews encountered significant difficulties extinguishing the fire due to the extreme outside air temperature.

The incident was placed under control within 30 minutes. Crews remained on scene for an additional 3 hours completing overhaul and ensuring the fire was out.

The residence sustained major damage, and the home is left uninhabitable the American Red Cross is assisting the resident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
