The City of Red Wing Public Works Department will be shifting lanes on the portion of Levee Road from the bulkheads west to Withers Harbor Drive beginning Monday, August 23.
The lanes will be shifted to the south side of the road to allow the US Army Corps of Engineers to do dredging of the Mississippi River.
The dredging will include the removal of approximately 30,000 to 50,000 yards of material to keep the river open to barge traffic.
The work is expected to be completed in 6 weeks depending on the amount of material that will need to be dredged.
The lanes will be shifted Monday through Friday; however, they will revert back to the normal traffic lanes on Saturday and Sunday.
