The Red Wing Public Library is now offering patrons an unusual option to pickup their books, dvd’s and anything else they want to check out.
Red Wing Public Library Director, Dan Brower, says last month funds raised by the Friends of the Red Wing Public Library enabled the library to purchase 20 Pickup Lockers located at Red Wing Fire Station 2, 4880 Moundview Drive.
Brower says the process is simple, after placing a request in the libraries catalog and selecting "Red Wing Pickup Lockers," you'll get a notification when your items arrive.
After that, go to the lockers, scan your library card, and enter your PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number).
Then, press "Pick-Up Items." A locker will pop open with your items already checked out.
Brower says over 4 dozen items have already been picked up at the new lockers.
