Organizations that were awarded the First Time Events Grant have executed or are in the planning stages of their events.
Two exciting events are happening this month.
Dave Farrar is organizing a new event in downtown Red Wing called the Fall Kickoff Block Party on Friday, September 9th from 5-8 PM.
3rd Street between East Ave and Bush Street will be closed off.
There will be food trucks, DJ’s providing music, and a big highlight—Paul Allen, the radio voice of the Vikings will be giving an inspirational message.
On Sunday, September, 25th from 11 am – 4 pm, it’s Autumn Fest. The event is designed for family fun, community, and a reintroduction to the new look of the West End District.
There will be bounce houses, pumpkin painting, food and drink specials and more.
The other grant recipients, Red Wing Arts and Big Turn Music Festival, organized River Town Throwdown in July, a free public concert and art experience.
The First Time Events Grant is a collaboration among the churches of Red Wing, Downtown Main Street, and the Red Wing Port Authority.
