Red Wing Fire

The Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched at 10:42 a.m. Friday to a structure fire in the 4200 block of Collischan Road in Red Wing. 


Firefighter-paramedics arrived on scene within 10 minutes and found a fully involved structure fire. The occupant was out of the residence.


Firefighters encountered rural conditions with no available water supply on scene. Firefighters worked for two hours to extinguish the fire.


Firefighters remained on scene for a few hours extinguishing hot spots. The house was left unhabitable.


One firefighter was injured during the incident and treated and released. Seventeen cats were rescued from the residence. 


Additional support on scene was provided by Miesville Fire Department, Hastings Fire Department, Ellsworth Fire Department, Cannon Falls Fire Department, Red Wing Police Department, Siewert’s Towing, and Goodhue County Sheriff's Dispatch.


Ellsworth Ambulance and Prescott Fire Department provided coverage in Red Wing during the incident.
