Red Wing City Council Administrator Offer

After interviews Thursday with the Red Wing City Council, Mayor, city department supervisors and staff and community stakeholders, the Council voted to offer Christopher Heineman the position of Red Wing City Council Administrator.

Heineman currently serves as the City Administrator with the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, where he has been in the role for six years. Prior to this, he served as the Community Development Director/EDA Executive Director with the City of Northfield, Minnesota, for six years.

Mayor Mike Wilson says the Council expects an answer from Heineman sometime by early in January.

The other finalists were Robert Keehn, who currently serves as the City Administrator with the City of Lake City and Aaron Reeves, who currently serves as the Deputy Director of Public Works – Business Operations with the City of Boulder, Colorado.

Kay Kuhlmann, who has been City Council Administrator since July 1997, is retiring in March of 2025.
