Red Wing Art’s 17th annual Plein Air, the only outdoor painting festival in Southern Minnesota, is underway, and well over 2 dozen artists are in the community through June 24 capturing the beauty of Red Wing’s scenery in real-time.
Red Wing Arts Executive Director, Emily Foos, says participating artists will complete up to three paintings which will be judged for $5,000 in cash prizes.
Foos says after the artists turn in their artwork over 100 judged paintings will be hung and available for purchase from June 24-August 20.
From 6-7 pm Friday, June 23rd, Red Wing Arts members will get their first look at the artwork and from 7-9 pm there will be an awards reception at the Depot Gallery.
