The Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce team and the Chamber Ambassadors hosted a Ribbon Cutting Wednesday to celebrate with Amazon.
Field Acquisition Manager, Laurel Rubenzer, says they are located in Eau Claire but now are bringing the Amazon Hub program to Red Wing.
Rubenzer says delivery service to the Red Wing has been slower that they would like, mainly due to a lack of delivery people. She says this program is win for the partner businesses and for customers.
Besides the extra income for every delivery, other benefits to local businesses include getting more visibility in the community with no long-term contracts or startup costs.
Amazon will deliver between 20-50 packages daily within Red Wing and local partners deliver them and receive weekly direct deposits into their bank account.
Non-profits are not eligible but Rubenzer says for local small businesses especially, becoming an Amazon Delivery Partner is a great opportunity.
