
The three finalist non-profit organizations in Goodhue County for the Power of 100 Red Wing’s Spring Impact Award event are gearing up to make presentations next week.
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon - Hiawatha Valley, Red Wing Food Shelf and Red Wing Hope & Harbor will present on Thursday, April 3 at the St. James Hotel, Summit Room, from 6 - 8 pm.
Following the presentations, the women in attendance will vote for their choice, with the winning organization presented with a $10,000+ check.
Last April, the women voted to gave $10,000 to Faith in Action, and in October, Hope Coalition recieved $15,100.
Board member, Dee Whipple, says the group now has 240 women in it which means they can give out more money and lower their entry fees the next time they open up memberships again.
So far, in just a year, thanks to members, Women Cents, and The Richard M. Shulze Foundation, they will have given out $32,400 to non-profits.
Fellow Board member, Sandy Carrington, says she loves the fact the group has women of all ages involved.
