Power of 100 Red Wing Fall Impact Award

The second of many meetings was held last Thursday night at the Red Wing Elks Lodge for the Power of 100 Red Wing organization and their Impact Award Event, a part of a National Alliance100 Who Care.

The Power of Red Wing is a group, which has now grown to 155 women, started in April of this year with 100 Women dedicated to cash donations to non-profit organizations on a Biannual basis.

After watching presentations made by the three finalists, Hope Coalition, Rise Up Red Wing and Hope and Harbor, the Power of 100 Red Wing members chose Hope Coalition as this year’s recipient and was awarded $15,500.

HOPE Coalition (HOPE) is the sole resource for people facing domestic violence and sexual assault in Goodhue and Wabasha Counties and a primary resource for those needing basic needs met in our coverage area.

Before the end of the evening, surprise donations of $1000 to Hope and Harbor and $1000 to Rise Up Red Wing were presented!  Women Cents, a Red Wing organization with a similar mission, wanted to support Power of 100 – Red Wing in their mission of giving.

In April of this year Faith In Action received $10,000.00 from Power of 100 Red Wing. They reported on how funds were spent prior to awarding the Fall recipient.

They were able to purchase a Data Base System to help with operations, they purchased handles to help clients into vehicles, and purchased gas cards for the many volunteers that transport clients.
