Plainview’s Economic Development Authority is receiving a $20,000 ‘Activating our Entrepreneurial Ecosystem’ grant, one of nine approved by the Owatonna-based Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF).
The Plainview grant will help pay for an increased Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) contract with the city for eight hours per month.
According to the Plainview News, Will Giesen, Plainview’s former Community and Business Development Specialist says the contract is dedicated to entrepreneurial outreach and having Chatfield-based CEDA create a business toolkit based on feedback received during the outreach program.
The rest of the funds will help establish a technical assistance fund to help offset costs of trainings, business services, and program access and such for local entrepreneurs.
