The Welding Technology program is in high demand at Minnesota State College Southeast – so in Spring Semester 2025, a second section of the program will be offered at the Winona campus.
When Spring Semester begins on January 13, 2025, students can start the welding program with afternoon and evening classes.
The program will continue through the summer, and students will finish in August with the diploma in welding – only 7 months from start to finish.
The Welding program begins with training in safety and the proper handling of tools and shop supplies.
Students become skilled in several welding and cutting processes in a variety of positions.
Statewide, the need for welders is expected to increase significantly over the next 10 years.
The median salary in Minnesota is about $55,000, but experienced welders can make much more.
Registration is open now for the Spring Semester Welding program, but seats are limited.
