The 16th Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament, hosted by Minnesota State College Southeast Foundation, took place on Monday, August 5th at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Winona, event organizers declared it an unqualified success.
This year, 140 golfers participated in the event, which raises funds to support scholarships and programs at Minnesota State College Southeast.
Casie Johnson, the college’s Director of Stewardship and Foundation Operations, says this year saw the most money, almost $29,000, they’ve ever raised (both gross and net) for their tournaments since its inception in 2009.
Over the past 16 years, the annual tournament has netted nearly $300,000.
31 businesses and individuals signed on to sponsor the tournament, including lead event sponsor Dahl Toyota of Winona.
In addition, area businesses and individuals donated items valued at over $23,000 for the silent auction.
