Mississippi River Major Flooding Forecast




Water levels continue to climb on the Mississippi River with many locations forecast seeing miner to major flooding as of  next Thursday, June 27th.


The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River at Wabasha affecting Wabasha and Buffalo Counties.

 

According to the National Weather Service, the river at Hastings is just under 13 ft as of Thursday morning and is expected to reach minor flood stage of 15 ft by early Saturday night, moderate flood level of 17 ft by Monday, and major flood level, 18 ft. by Tuesday and reach 19.5 ft. by next Thursday.

 

Red Wing’s measurement stood at 11.27 as of this morning and is forecast to go over the minor stage at 14 feet by Monday night. Major flooding is forecast at 16.1 feet by next Thursday.

 

The river at Lake City is expected to rise to minor flood stage of 16 next Tuesday and crest at 17 feet by next Thursday. Moderate flooding occurs at 18 feet.


Wabasha will be experiencing minor flooding at 12 feet Friday morning and the river is forecast to rise to moderate flood stage of 14.4 feet by next Thursday.
