Mississippi River Flooding Forecast




The flood level on the Mississippi River continues to slowly recede.  


According to the National Weather Service, the river at Hastings below Lock and Dam 2 was just over major flood stage of 18.1 feet as of this morning and is expected to slowly fall to under moderate flood stage of 16.8 feet by Friday morning.

 

Red Wing’s measurement stood at just under major flood stage of 15.7 feet as of Wednesday morning and is forecast to fall under minor flood stage, 14 feet, by Saturday morning.  

 

The river at Lake City was at still at minor flood stage of 17 feet as of Wednesday morning and is expected to slowly fall all week to just under minor flood level, 16 feet, by Saturday afternoon.


Wabasha continues to experience moderate flooding, measured at just under 15 feet as of Wednesday morning. The river is forecast to slowly fall to under moderate flood stage of 14 feet by Saturday and to fall under 13 feet by next Tuesday. Minor flood stage is 12 feet.
