Mississippi River Flood Stage


Following the snowfall and rain this past week, the Mississippi River water level keeps rising.


According to the National Weather Service, as of Wednesday morning the river at Lake City is 10.36 ft, and by April 12th it’s estimated to be at 13.7 ft. Flood stage is 16 ft.


Wabasha readings as of yesterday, 12 ft and predicted by April 12th to be at 11.9, with flood stage at 12 ft.


Down river at Winona, the Mississippi River is at 8.22 ft, with 11.5 ft prerdicted by the 12th. Flood stage at Winona is 13 ft.


Next week’s forecast indicates high temperatures in the mid to upper 60’s and low to mid 70’s which will speed up the snow melt.
