Wednesday Scores:

Boys & Girls State Golf:

Day two of the State AA Tournament was just nine holes due to rain and storms at The Ridges of Sand Creek in Jordan.


The boys started first and Holy Family Catholic won the team title with a 438. Pine Island-Zumbrota-Mazeppa finished sixth with a 472. Garrett Sperber was low for PIZM with a 113. Braxton Berlin of Lake City had a 27 hole total of 125.


On the girls side, Detroit Lakes was first with a 486 with Lake City second overall with a 499. Lake City senior Jordana Windorst-Knudsen fired a sizzling 36 for her nine holes to rally for the State AA individual title with a medalist score of 114. Ella Matzke had a 123, Mattie Mears a 130 and Alayna Atkinson a 132 for the Tigers. Hallie Johnson had a 27 hole score of 144 for Red Wing.

Amateur Baseball:

Red Wing Aces 8 Minneapolis North Stars 2-Jack Carlson pitched six strong innings to get the win the the Aces. Mitch Seeley went two innings and Reid Hartmann pitched a screless ninth inning to wrap it up for Red Wing.


The Aces had 12 hits with Ethan Loos and Adam Thygesen getting two hits apiece for Red Wing.


The Aces are 9-3 on the season and host the Rochester Royals Friday at 7:30pm and The Northfield Knights Sunday at 2pm with both games on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE/KCUE 99FM and streamed at www.kcueradio.com.

Class AA Quarterfinal: Zumbrota-Mazeppa vs. Foley 5:30pm at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.
