Amateur Baseball Region 5C Saturday Scores at Vet's Park in Hastings:

Stewartville-Racine Sharks 4 Plainview 3 Bucks (10 innings)

Red Wing Aces 11 Cannon Falls Bears 1 (7 innings)-Zach Harding was 4-5 with three doubles, a home run and four RBI to lead the Aces 15 hit attack. Reid Hartmann and Marcus Walm each had two RBI. Aaron Johnson tossed a seven inning complete game, allowing one run on seven hits while racking up nine strike outs to improve

his record to 9-0 on the season.

Wanamingo Jacks 16 Austin Greyhounds 0 (7 innings)

Hastings Hawks 2 Pine Island Pioneers 2 (suspended due to weather after seven innings)

Amateur Baseball Region 5C Sunday Scores at Vet's Park in Hastings:

Cannon Falls Bears 7 Plainview Bucks 0 (Elimination Bracket)

Red Wing Aces 8 Stewartville-Racine Sharks 6-The Aces outlasted the Sharks to advance into the winners bracket final. Red Wing Led 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Marcus Walm blasted a bases loaded double to put the Aces up 7-2. The Sharks rallied with four runs in the top of the eighth off Aces starting pitcher Ben Keuhni but Jack Carlson came in recorded two outs as the Aces clung to a 7-6 lead. Red Wing added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI fielders choice by Tyler Rodgers. Carlson retired the Sharks in order in the top of the ninth inning to pick up the save.

The Aces are 19-11 and face Wanamingo in the Region 5C winners bracket final Saturday at 12pm at Dartts Park in Owatonna. The winner is the #1 seed out of Region 5C for the upcoming state tournament. The loser would play at 6pm in Owatonna for the #2 seed and the final berth out the region for state. The opponent is to be determined.

Fall sports practices start in Wisconsin today. Monday, August 12th sees Minnesota High School fall sports practices begin.
