The Lake City community is invited to attend a special free event by Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center this month dedicated to mental wellness and suicide prevention.
Lake City School Superintendent Ariana Wright, says Waves of Hope: Raising Community Awareness for Suicide Prevention will be held Monday, January 27.
It starts at 5:45 pm at Lincoln High School, kicking off with a Mental Wellness Resource Fair, a free meal and a movie, a powerful true story of hope.
Wright says the evening wraps up at 8 pm with a panel discussion.
Three local community members will share their experiences with suicide loss, focusing on spousal, sibling, and child loss including an audience directed Q&A session.
