Lake City Superintendent of Schools, Ariana Wright, is very excited for the senior class at Lincoln High School getting a special award.
Wright says over half of the seniors took AP courses and they scored very well. The class received a Silver Distinction Advance Placement Award, with over 60% took at least 1 AP exam and 10% took at least 5 AP exams.
A college-level exam given at the end of the year tests the students' knowledge of the AP subject. Wright says exam scores can then be submitted to colleges and universities for college credit.
Advanced Placement (AP) offers more than 30 college-level courses in subjects such as English, history, humanities, languages, math, psychology and science.
