Kernza Fest Lake City

The Lake Pepin Legacy Alliance is putting on a first-of-its kind event celebrating Kernza, perennial grains and other sustainable agricultural practices this weekend.

Red Wing Chamber of Commerce Member Services Specialist, Laura Aadalen, says Kernza Fest on Saturday, June 18 will feature a wide variety of activities, live music, chef demonstrations, speakers, kids activities, vendor marketplace, live music, food trucks, water testing, and more.

The event takes place from 10 am to 6 pm at Ohuta Park in Lake City.

Kernza is the first commercially developed perennial grain crop that not only benefits the soil, but also helps clean water with its deep root system.

The main event is free to attend, but they are requesting registration to help us anticipate numbers.
