Girls Basketball:
State Class A Quarterfinal: Goodhue 76 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 47-The #1 seeded Wildcats rolled to a win over the Wolves at Maturi Pavilion.
Goodhue led 31-16 at the half and cruised in the second half for the win. Kendyl Lodermeier led Goodhue with 20 points with Kenzie Lodermeier adding 12.
Goodhue hit 12 three point baskets and forced 26 WHA turnovers.
Boys Basketball:
Section 1A Championship: Goodhue 84 Rushford-Peterson 79-The Wildcats built a 13 point lead and held off a late Trojans rally to capture the Section 1A title at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena.
Luke Roschen poured in a career high 40 points to lead Goodhue with Alex Loos adding 20 and Owen Roschen 12.
William Lafleur led R-P with 22 points and Jaxon Meldahl added 17.
Goodhue is now 22-8 on the season and heads to state for a second straight year and the sixth time in school history.
The Wildcats find out who they play at the state tournament tomorrow when the seedings come out for all four classes.
Section 1AA Championship: Caledonia 63 Lake City 42-The #1 seed Warriors topped the #3 seeded Tigers in the late game Thursday at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena.
Lake City trailed 28-20 at the half and couldn't mount a second half charge against the Warriors in the second half.
Mason King led four players in double figures for Caledonia (28-2) with 18 points. Josh Wohlers led Lake City with nine points. Lake City ends their season with a 19-10 record.
