The community is invited to attend the first He Mni Can Wacipi (Powwow) at the Red Wing High School on Saturday, September 14 from 10 am – 9 pm.
The event will feature food, dancing, regalia, art vendors, educational booths, and much more in celebration of Dakota culture and heritage.
There will be educational sessions from 10 am to noon, the Grand Entry and Honor Guard at 1 pm and Traditional Program from 2-9 pm.
Wacipi will be OUTDOORS, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the High School gym and arena will be backup locations.
This special event is in partnership with The Honoring Dakota Project, Red Wing Arts, Red Wing Public Schools, the Prairie Island Indian Community, and the Native American Student Association.
