A Flood Warning has been issued for Wabasha and Buffalo counties until Monday, April 17 at 1 am.
The National Weather Service in La Crosse has raised the threat of flooding downstream of Red Wing to Very High Risk (80-90%) and a 30-65% of major flooding.
The Weather Service expects the highest Upper Mississippi River levels in over 20 years, flood levels could rival 2001.
Flooding is expected to start toward the middle of April, based on snowmelt only, they expect rivers to crest between April 19th to 29th.
Any additional precipitation may result in secondary crests or exacerbat ongoing flooding
