Fall Color Changes

As we near mid-October the changing of the leaves in southeast Minnesota continues.

According to the Fall Color Finder on the Minnesota DNR website, as of Tuesday, all of Goodhue, Wabasha, Winona and Olmsted counties were at 25-50%.

Eastern Dakota County is still in the 10-25% category.

The typical dates for peak fall colors in southeast Minnesota is early to mid October but this fall’s changes are about a week to 10 days behind the last 2 years schedule.

In western Wisconsin, River Falls and Pepin County are at 25% peak with Buffalo and Trempealeau County at 20%.
