City of Wabasha Floodwater Discharge and Sandbags

The City of Wabasha Public Works Department are asking for the public’s help.

Wabasha is currently in moderate flood stage with an anticipated 1.5 additional foot rise over the next week. Their sewer plant is at max capacity and cannot handle additional flood water.

If you are pumping your basement floodwater, it needs to be discharged to the street curb.

If you are getting water in your basement and have a flood drain, please plug it with a tennis ball, rubber stoppers, or similar item with a weight placed on top such as a concrete block.

If the city sewer system is overwhelmed, it could cause sewer backups which will be much worse than flood water.

With the recent rains and snow thaw residents may be experiencing some flooding issues.

Wabasha City Hall has sandbags available for $.25/bag. Monday – Thursday from 9am – 4pm and Fridays from 9am – 11am.

If you have an after-hours flooding EMERGENCY or sandbag need please call 651-565-3997. The Sandbag fill site is located at the Army Corps site just West of Eagle Valley Café.
