The City of Plainview is still weighing over their options as to how to approach legal cannabis after the first of the year.
Mayor Aaron Luckstein explains the state of Minnesota has set many of the regulations but is leaving it up to each city whether they want to have their own set of local regulations or let the county set the ordinance rules and abide by them.
Luckstein says there is a recomendation to the City Council to defer for now to the county while they collect more data before a final vote in December.
One thing is certain, there will a minimum of two dispensaries, as per state regualtions, opening in Wabasha County.
The City Council meets Tuesday, November 12th and the council welcomes public to make comments during the open public comment period.
Luckstein says there will not be an official public hearing at this months meeting.
The Council will be voting on a resolution only and then the ordinance language will be drafted and brought to council in December which will include a public hearing.
