The Bald Eagle is now officially the National Bird of the United States, and the public is invited to join the celebration at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha for their March 22-23 Annual SOAR With the Eagles Festival.
Feature programs will be held both days at 1 p.m. in St. Felix Auditorium in Wabasha.
On Saturday, March 22, the Center will host a special program exploring Bald Eagles and their symbolism throughout American culture and will feature one of the live Eagle Ambassadors from the Center.
On Sunday, March 23 guests can attend the Center’s fan-favorite live eagle program and learn many fascinating facts about eagles.
Festival attendees will also be able to view the newest exhibition in the American Eagle Gallery, “Clearing the Air”, which explores the myths about eagles throughout the history of human civilization.
Additional exhibitors will include the International Wolf Center who will share information and answer questions about the Grey Wolf, Jackie Fallon and her falcon friends from the Midwest Peregrine Society, the Minnesota Herpetological Society who share some of their reptile friends and answer questions, and the folks from Wabasha Bird City.
