The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, locked the Motor Vessel Neil N. Diehl with 9 barges on Wednesday March, 19th at 12:48pm en route to St. Paul.
The lockage marks the unofficial start to the 2025 Upper Mississippi River navigation season.
Lake Pepin is the last major barrier for vessels reaching the head of the navigation channel in St. Paul.
