While Minnesota may be known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, you might be surprised to learn that the North Star State is actually home to 14,380 lakes, if you count the lakes that cross the U.S.-Canada border.
A pair of lakes in SE Minnesota made the list of 11 Of The Most Beautiful Lakes In Minnesota in a poll by Only in Your State website.
They recently asked their Only in Minnesota and Minnesota Nature Lovers Facebook Pages what everyone’s favorite lake in Minnesota was.
The final list includes Lake Pepin, the largest lake on the Mississippi River and, as the poll notes, it might just be one of the most scenic in the state.
Surrounded by a city park and a popular biking path, Lake Winona is a fan favorite for good reason and it made the top 11 as well.
